Cycling infrastructure – project update

There are a lot of exciting road and path improvements underway and in planning. Here are a few updates from our recent meetings with the City:

Bethany & Mayfield: Build Pending
Roundabout intersection, ~120’
4ft bike lane for eastbound traffic
Targeted finish Q3 2020

Morris Rd @ Webb: Build In-progress
120’ Roundabout
4ft Bike Lanes north of Roundabout, connection to Webb Br
Pathway access to park Old Milton & GA400, Q4 2019

Greenway Extension: Build Pending
Mixed surface, largely at grade concrete path, with raised walkway
Construction Start Jan/Feb 2020
City to find the means to fund for 2020 budget – part of the 8/19 workshop

Kimball Bridge – East of North Point: Build Pending
Features: Westbound bike lane (Northside), Eastbound 10ft sidewalk (Southside)
Awaiting ROW acquisition

Rucker Rd: Build In-Progress
Maintain 10’ lane end-to-end (Houze to Wills), consistent with Roswell’s implementation
Features: Bike Lanes on the eastside, Multiuse pathways in both sides of street
Construction Complete target year end 2019

Alpha Loop – Thompson Rd: Build In-Progress
Connection from City Center to Avalon, completion target end of year

Academy St: Design In-Progress
3-4ft bike both directions, 6’ sidewalk
No roundabouts, not enough $$
Project spans Loxford Ln/Academy Park to Westside Pkwy

Webb Br East: Design In-Progress
Features 8’ multi + 4 ft bikes lanes, Westbound greenway entrance
More design work required….2yrs
Public Reveal preliminary design – September/October

Hopewell & Vaughn: Conceptual Design Pending
Roundabout intersection, 104’ minimum, but will try to incorporate larger, 110 – 120’
Design Funding Approved 08/19
