Bike Alpharetta was proud to be part of the ribbon cutting ceremony in June 2021 as the new 2.2-mile northern section of Alpharetta’s Big Creek Greenway was opened to the public! The new segment of concrete multi-use pathway runs from the Marconi Drive trailhead to Union Hill Park and McGinnis Ferry Road.

A section of the Greenway along Webb Bridge Road is being updated in July 2024, with a sharp right turn along the road modified as a safer sweeping curve and will connect to the same tunnel that goes under Webb Bridge. That new portion will allow the Greenway to remain open as construction takes place on Webb Bridge Road.

Forsyth County has plans to make the final connection to its section of the greenway in the future, which will make it a full 14 miles in one direction. For now, anyone wanting to ride north from Union Hill Park in Fulton County to Halcyon in Forsyth County, it is suggested that people follow a gravel path from Union Hill Road to McGinnis Ferry Road and then connect to a concrete multi-use path on Ronald Reagan Parkway (on north side) for one mile to Halcyon.
