Our Community made a Difference – July 16-21, 2017

iCan Shine is a national charitable nonprofit organization which conducts over 100, five-day iCan Bike programs in the U.S. iCan Bike teaches approximately 3,000 people with disabilities how to ride a two-wheeled bicycle each year. Since its inception in 2007, approximately 20,000 people with disabilities have learned to ride a bicycle through this wonderful program. Research shows that over 80% of people with Autism and 90% of people with Down syndrome never experience this thrill. Defying these odds is why we exist!

timthumb.phpWe are very lucky to have the opportunity to host the iCan Bike program in Alpharetta, Ga., hosted by The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety and The Alpharetta Public Safety Foundation.  The iCan Bike program was held at The Cooler Family Skate Center. THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!

The Bicycle Friendly America program provides incentives, hands-on assistance and award recognition for communities, universities and businesses that actively support bicycling, and ranks states annually based on their level of bike-friendliness. As of March, the League of American Bicyclists had 1,132 BFBs in 49 states and the District of Columbia. Only 11 of these are in Georgia.

We encourage all sizes of businesses, from 2 to 2,000+ employees, in Alpharetta to apply to become a BFB in 2017! Become the FIRST business in north Fulton County this year! Check out the links below to get started:
